First Saturday, COVID-19, Ingress Yorkshire, and you.

  • gwince

At this point, everyone is well aware of the lockdowns in place across the United Kingdom and the rest of the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While we would love to have an April IFS, the advice from the UK Government is to stay at home, and only travel for essential reasons.

Our first concern is the health and well being of our attendees and the the general public, so the very nature of the game we love is contrary to the advice and legislation in recent weeks.

The official word from Niantic and FevGames is that all First Saturday events in April are cancelled. And we will await word on the May events, as the situation is constantly developing.

Please, where possible, follow the advice, keep washing your hands, and be aware of the temporary game changes during this unprecedented global event.

Please take care of yourselves, your family, and your friends. Be kind. Be thoughtful.

Agents, it’s time to #stayhome.

Update – 10th August 2020
As you can imagine, many Agents are eager to get back to our usual style of events, so it’s time for an update to this post.

The current guidelines from the UK Government state that mass gatherings are not to take place, so we are following that guidance and continuing with the Virtual First Saturdays until the situation changes.
